He excels in representing clients in courtrooms, boardrooms and before regulatory authorities. He operates from the rare perspective gained from a decade serving on “the inside” of the nation’s leading clean energy company, and has a significant track record of success shaping state and federal governmental policy.

Dave began his career handling a wide variety of local, regional and national business industry issues and business-related litigation, trying and winning scores of jury trials and other proceedings in Florida and across the country. Dave’s diverse experience was developed trying cases in big and small towns across the country, amassing a substantial track record of courtroom success, appellate wins and landmark industry victories. The wide variety of cases tried and appeals argued, resulted in him becoming one of the most versatile and nimble advocates in the nation. Dave also practiced law with noted litigator David Boies at Boies Schiller & Flexner, focused on representing the interests of Fortune 500 clientele in complex litigation throughout the United States. This is where Dave’s decade-long affiliation with NextEra/Florida Power & Light began.

Initially, Dave led the company’s solar and wind energy litigation efforts across the country, and later represented the company to secure zoning, permitting and land use approvals, assuring billions in investments. Later, his duties at NextEra/Florida Power & Light extended beyond traditional legal work, including serving as a corporate officer with a seat on the Operating Committee, reporting directly to, and providing quiet counsel, to both the current and former CEOs of NextEra Energy, Inc., as well as to the CEO of Florida Power & Light. In addition to his responsibility for corporate strategy and key initiatives, Dave was invited to testify before Congress to offer his vision of energy policy and fuel diversity necessary in the 21st Century. Dave led NextEra Energy Resources’s state legal regulatory and governmental policy group with responsibility across the nation outside of Florida, and thereafter, was assigned to Washington, D.C. to manage the company’s federal governmental affairs office and to assure governmental policy initiatives vital to the companies’ success. He was responsible for the company advocacy on Capitol Hill, the White House, the Departments of Commerce, Treasury, Energy, Interior, the FERC and NERC and close coordination with such diverse organizations as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Business Roundtable and environmental preservationists.

Dave has brought his national experience home to Northern Palm Beach County, where the firm counsels’ businesses, entrepreneurs and innovators throughout the state and across the nation. The firm also pursues solutions for clients engaged in trust, estate and probate litigation, achieving notable results and landmark rulings. Dave endeavors to craft sensible, cost-efficient win-win outcomes for clients while exceeding expectations. When amicable solutions can’t be achieved and clients’ interests must be represented before judges, juries, regulatory bodies or those that shape policy – he makes it a point to win. Dave has been AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell for more than three decades, reflecting a legal practice that meets the highest standards for ethics, professionalism and legal ability.

While in Washington, D.C., Dave served on the Board of the National Parks Trust, and since returning to Palm Beach County, his activities and interests include membership in the Economic Council of Palm Beach County, the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches, the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County, the PGA Corridor Association and Leadership Palm Beach County.
